Getting older, not necessarily wiser!
At 5:50 this morning we felt an earth quake. The Epicenter, according to the USGS, was about 40 KM away. Not an unusual occurrence for this area of the world. However this was the first one I felt on this trip.
In our area the intensity was fairly mild. I felt some movement for about 30 seconds. However, no swaying of pictures on the walls, no furniture moved, or any other side effects. Of course the USGS says to expect aftershocks.
Living on the Pacific Ring of Fire, I should expect Earth Quakes every now and then. Although it seems to be a surprise whenever they occur.
I got a timely warning on my phone just as it started. Something I never worried about growing up. During the formative years I lived on the eastern side of the ring of fire in the US.
Mother Nature can still had us a lot of grief if she wants too. For the record, it was a 6.1 magnitude quake at a depth of 136 Km.
