Today I am starting a new project, running Arch with a GUI on an older and less powerful computer. The purpose of this project is to see if a standard Linux Distro (not something specifically deigned for low end machines) can indeed be used efficiently on older computers. (more…)
I did manage to get Linux working on that old transformer from this post. So in this post I thought I would go over the results.

In this post I am preparing to installing Linux on an old laptop. Periodically I see stuff on line about using Linux to breath life into old hardware. I figured it was time to give it a try.
While packing up for my upcoming move I came across an old ASUS T100 Transformer, from approximately 2013. So it is almost 10 years old. I figure this will be perfect for testing Linux on a computer with limited resources. (more…)
