Just performed an upgrade (at least I think so) of my local DNS server form a Raspberry Pi 3B to a 2nd generation Intel NUC. Had to do a littel repair work first, as the NUC was giving POST errors.
I have embarked on a new project that I thought would be fairly simple, getting around Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (CGNAT). At least the method I am testing out should have been simple. Alas things are not always as we would like them to be. (more…)
Almost every time you use your browser, you are making a Domain Name Service (DNS) query. Because generally speaking we tend to use website names instead of IP addresses. And the DNS query is what gets us an IP address for a particular named site. (more…)
