Arch OpenBox and SLIM on VirtualBox VM Part 1

In this series we will explore emulating a more real life desktop experience though a VirtualBox (VBox) Virtual Machine.

We will be starting form a base Arch Linux Install (this post).

To this will be added a Window manager (WM), specifically OpenBox. Also a Display manager (DM) will be installed, specifically SLIM. These will be running under Xorg X-Windows system. And finally we will add some helper programs to enhance the Graphical User Interface (GUI) experience. Specifically nitrogen, tint2, and conky.

In future additions to this series we will be tackling initial setup and configuration of each component and the system as a whole.
